At the end of the hall, you have truly arrived at the heart of the home and can see from one side of the original textile warehouse building to the other, and out through the vantage points of the massive windows. A small step up places you on the main stage, the kitchen from where you can entertain, conduct, orchestrate, and most of all, observe and bask in the stunning main living areas of the home. The kitchen is built out of classic American walnut, with layers of remote-controlled illumination at every level, whether for ambiance or task-based use, as well as endless built-in storage solutions throughout. The high-end Cambria counters include one large apron front single-basin copper sink and a smaller, also copper, wet bar sink on the island. The main overhead lighting includes three historical works of art, namely an authentic set of antique brass and stainless steel nautical lamps salvaged from a cargo ship and refurbished with LED for modern use. Just off the kitchen is a brand new butler's pantry and laundry room with marble counters and backsplash, tiled floors, and end-to-end storage on both sides perfect for storage and managing hired catering. This area is complete with a double entry, which gives the primary bedroom direct access to the laundry. Surrounding the kitchen in a semicircle are adaptable spaces currently serving as an art studio with a sitting area, a second bedroom, a dining room, and a living room. The living room offers massive windows and an interesting vertical fireplace. Just off the living room, through a stunningly patinated door, is the primary bedroom, which is clad with infinite storage and trimmed in brushed aluminum. From the bedroom continue into the master bath, featuring travertine stone floors, a massive vintage industrial copper tub, nine-feet ceilings with a beveled skylight, granite countertop wrapping around the tub, a walnut and brass sink base atop which sits a custom-made Jurassic marble sink with solid brass wall-mounted fixtures. A large architectural window-turned mirror sits flush into a wall, onto which unlacquered brass tub fixtures are seamlessly attached for a sparkling effect. Vintage brass and copper naval ship lamps are beautifully suspended from the ceiling, and a small window was carved out to install a genuine antique English leaded stained glass window to finish out this magical space. There are additional dedicated storage areas accessible from the main living area, including two lofted spaces one close to the entry which could also serve as exhibition for art, and a second at the other end of the home with built-in stairs leading to a hidden sleep-loft for guests or quiet reading. Past the stairs is a spa bathroom complete with an infrared sauna, to penetrate deep into the skin tissue for a zen experience and full body restoration. In this home, all windows are original metal frame professionally-restored antiques with reglazed original panels. Most doors are salvaged and restored, the home has original exposed brick throughout, has 13-foot ceilings of original exposed heart pine roof and framing. There is solid white oak plank flooring throughout with a scissor-loc gymnasium sub-floor system. Two types of sound barrier systems are incorporated: rubber sound barrier system & blown-in insulation. This property has been staged by Galatea Design Studio.
